Description: German, Hungarian or blue chamomile (Matricaria recutita) produces a deep blue oil. The oil is distilled from the flowers.

Uses: The scent is a sedative and helps lull the body to sleep. It is used to treat numerous emotional complaints including impatience, insatiability, insomnia, melancholia, and stress. Taken internally or externally, chamomile is anti-inflammatory. M. recutita, in particular, is used to heal skin problems. Apply the oil topically to treat skin conditions including allergies, infections, burns, inflammation, rashes, and bites. Taken internally, it can help ease menstrual symptoms and stomach distress.
